Dillingen/Saar, August 24, 2026 – Next2Sun AG, the technology leader in vertical bifacial photovoltaics, has launched a share offering to finance its continued growth. The offering volume amounts to up to EUR 5 million. Through the capital increase, Next2Sun aims to accelerate the development of its own solar projects and further scale its business model. The company considers itself to be in an excellent position to benefit from the structural changes currently reshaping the photovoltaic market.
Vertical Photovoltaics Meet Emerging Market Needs
“The energy transition is entering a new phase. The success of a solar installation is no longer determined solely by the amount of electricity generated, but increasingly by the timing of generation. This is precisely where our technology has its greatest strength,” says Heiko Hildebrandt, Member of the Management Board of Next2Sun AG.
While the vast majority of photovoltaic systems concentrate their electricity production around midday, Next2Sun’s vertical bifacial solar systems, while generating comparable overall yields, achieve peak production in the morning and evening hours. As a result, they generate higher market values than conventional south-facing ground-mounted PV systems and require fewer curtailments that reduce revenues. This advantage is becoming increasingly important as the expansion of renewable energy continues. What was once considered a niche technology is rapidly evolving into a decisive competitive advantage. In contrast to broader trends in the PV market, revenues generated by Next2Sun installations on the spot market have increased significantly on a per-kilowatt-hour basis in recent years. During the first half of 2026, the advantage compared to the German Solar Market Value exceeded 60%.
Scaling the Business Model
Next2Sun is expected to deliver approximately 50 MW of project volume in 2026 alone, nearly matching the total volume installed during the previous ten years combined. For 2027, project volume is expected to exceed 70 MW. In the medium term, the company aims to realize annual project volumes in the triple-digit megawatt range.
The capital increase is being carried out as a direct offering by the company. From August 21 to September 4, 2026, the new shares will be offered to existing shareholders under their subscription rights. Thereafter, all interested investors may subscribe for new shares directly with Next2Sun until September 30, 2026. The Securities Information Sheet prepared for the offering is available free of charge at the company’s website.
A Decade of Technology Leadership
Since its foundation in 2015, Next2Sun AG has transformed vertical photovoltaics from an innovative concept into a proven commercial technology. One of its flagship projects is the 17.4 MW vertical photovoltaic installation at Frankfurt Airport. The company has built extensive expertise in vertical photovoltaics and established itself as the technological pioneer in this segment.
“We have spent the last ten years creating the technological foundation. Although we have already achieved impressive growth, the phase of serious scaling is only just beginning. Through this capital increase, we intend to create the conditions necessary to fully unlock the enormous market potential of vertical photovoltaics,” says Sascha Krause-Tünker, Member of the Management Board of Next2Sun AG.
About Next2Sun:
Next2Sun is inventor and technology leader in the field of vertically installed, bifacial photovoltaics. This technology enables countercyclical power generation – especially in the morning and evening hours – thus contributing to better grid stability and lower storage requirements. Based on its patented system technology, Next2Sun has developed a wide range of products, including the vertical agrivoltaics system, which enables dual use of agricultural land, and the solar fence.
With over 65 MWp of projects realized in Germany and abroad and more than 140 employees at locations in Germany, Austria, Poland, and Japan, the Next2Sun Group, founded in 2015, is now a multi-award-winning market and technology leader for sustainable photovoltaic solutions in agriculture, municipalities, commerce, and the private sector. The group covers all key stages of the value chain in-house, including the development and patenting of the mounting system technology, project development, project implementation, as well as sales and operation of photovoltaic installations.
