Dillingen/Saar, 05 October 2026 – The financing campaign conducted by Next2Sun in recent weeks generated an exceptionally strong response. Numerous shareholders, investors, customers, business partners, and other supporters expressed their commitment to the company. However, after a thorough review of all financing commitments received, it became clear that the required capital demand could not be fully covered. Consequently, the Next2Sun Group has filed for the initiation of insolvency proceedings under self-administration for parts of the company.
As part of the financing campaign, the company succeeded in securing numerous financing contributions and offers of support. In addition to share subscriptions, the company received further financing options and support proposals from various stakeholders.
As the continuation of the business must be based on a solid and reliable financing foundation, all commitments and significant financing offers received were carefully reviewed and evaluated over the past few days. During this assessment, it became apparent that some of these offers did not provide the necessary level of commitment required to cover the company’s capital needs with sufficient certainty for a sustainably secured medium-term continuation of operations.
Against this background, the company was compelled to file an application with the competent Local Court of Saarbrücken for the opening of insolvency proceedings under self-administration. The entities affected are Next2Sun Technology GmbH and Next2Sun Mounting Systems GmbH. Based on the current status, Next2Sun AG and Next2Sun Projekt GmbH are not affected.
The business operations of Next2Sun Projekt GmbH will continue, and all ongoing project developments will be actively pursued. The project companies operating already commissioned Agri-PV installations are also not insolvent.
The business operations of the companies affected by the insolvency filing are intended to continue. Ongoing projects will be assessed for their economic viability and, where possible, carried forward. At the same time, the search for investors will continue. The objective is to preserve as many jobs as possible and retain the valuable expertise within the company. The strong market response achieved in recent weeks, together with the investment commitments already received and the excellent market prospects of the technology, provide an important foundation for further discussions regarding the company’s future and possible restructuring options.
With regard to the current share offering, the following applies: As the required financing volume was not achieved, the transaction will not proceed. Accordingly, as previously announced, no investor funds will be accepted.
The management would like to expressly thank all supporters, investors, customers, partners, and employees who have shown extraordinary commitment to the company over the past weeks. The strong solidarity demonstrated and the confidence in Next2Sun’s Agri-PV technology are regarded as an important signal and a valuable foundation for the next steps.
“The past few weeks have demonstrated the strong support for our vision of sustainably combining agriculture and solar energy. We are deeply grateful to all our supporters for this. Although financing could not be secured to the extent required, we will do everything in our power to capitalize on the opportunities that remain for the continuation and restructuring of the company,” said Heiko Hildebrandt, Member of the Management Board of Next2Sun.
